Supplier concentration and trade development
China supplied just over half of official H1 2026 import value. Top 3 concentration reached 66.31%.
Import value increased from €897.72 million to €924.70 million, while net mass declined from 122.70 million to 119.95 million kilograms. This divergence is descriptive and is not a price index.
What does the approved CN scope cover?
Extra-EU imports under seven directly comparable CN8 classes covering multi-phase AC motors across output bands from not exceeding 750 W to exceeding 750 kW.
Scope limitation: The scope excludes traction motors, DC motors and generators. CN8 does not establish final application or exclusive industrial use. The data do not represent the EU electric-motor market, production, consumption, installed stock, internal sales or complete drive systems.
H1 2025 vs H1 2026
Official extra-EU import value increased by €26.98 million (+3.01%) to €924.70 million. Net mass declined by 2.75 million kilograms (-2.24%).
Methodology & source
This product uses monthly Eurostat Comext DS-045409 import data for reporter EU27_2020. Its scope is limited to extra-EU imports classified under CN8 85015100, 85015220, 85015230, 85015290, 85015381, 85015394 and 85015399, covering multi-phase AC motors across output classes from not exceeding 750 W to exceeding 750 kW, excluding the separately classified traction-motor category. H1 totals aggregate January through June observations for 2025 and 2026. Official market totals use partner EXT_EU27_2020. Supplier rankings include only identified extra-EU countries or jurisdictions and exclude EU27 member states, WORLD, geographic aggregates, stores and provisions, confidential or unspecified partners, and special or pseudo partner codes. Supplier shares and Top 3 and Top 5 concentration are calculated against the official extra-EU aggregate. The residual equals the official aggregate less the identified-supplier total and is disclosed without redistribution. Net mass is derived from QUANTITY_IN_100KG and converted to kilograms (× 100). The dataset does not represent the total EU electric-motor market, EU production, EU consumption, installed stock, internal sales, complete drive systems, DC motors, traction motors or generators. CN8 does not establish final application or exclusive industrial use. Value and mass divergence is descriptive and is not a price index.
2026 figures currently cover January through June. Trade statistics may be revised by Eurostat after initial publication. No total-market size is inferred.
